As an youngest CEO/Managing Director of a TV channel, Awaaz India, with a reach in 4 States with 40 million viewership, at the age of 35 years, is very gratifying experience, as it is through this medium, I am able to project realistic picture of the society and give Voice to Voiceless.
When I look back at my life, journey till here has been very arduous, full of ups and down. It was only a inner passionate motivation which helped to reach here, otherwise it is difficult to even dream of such position in society, for a boy, who was born in marginalised area of Nagpur, predominated by Nav Buddha (Scheduled caste-Mahar) Community. One very imp factor responsible for my up bringing was positive attitude of my parents and my community which advocated Educate, Agitate, Organise a famous path shown to us by our idol, Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar. I was so inspired by his passion to bring in change in the society, to rid it of its social evils, his progressive vision for India and therefore in my TV shows, you will find the reflections of his thoughts.
I was also influenced by work of Kanshiramji and learnt to pay back to society. It was this mission and my passion to work for society which led me to print and electronic media which doesn’t have much of backward community anchors. I worked very hard from news reader to anchor to CEO of a TV channel being first to be from Buddhist Community.
Through this channel, I am able to reach to millions, project their plights, showcase their talents and also delve deeply into their life and bring out successful models from which others are inspired. This also brings in change of some of the prejudiced minds and for me this is very important achievement, as I feel this as prime responsibility of Print and Electronic media. This is what is needed to bring our fragmented society together by being compassionate to each other as preached by Lord Buddha.
With no cash in hand, I had been helped by the community by donating few hundreds to thousands and few Ambedkarite officers like Harshadeep Kamble, IAS, guided me as they saw their aspirations and dreams for the society in me. I feel happy when I receive great feedbacks on my shows and am very happy when youngsters are motivated by success stories aired on Awaaz india. These are the true aspirations of our society, who dreams of flying High and through my work I try to built confidence in them to achieve their dreams. But I always tell them that once you rise, remember that you have to pay back to the society, the principle on which I will be working throughout my life.
